With its abundant flowers and luscious fruit of many different varieties, Jamaica is a paradise for any painter of still lifes. This final section of the book shows a selection of the many images of this kind that Judy Ann MacMillan has produced. Special emphasis has been given to her recent work in pastel, a medium particularly well suited to rendering the freshness and delicacy of the subject-matter. Paintings in oils show her interest in the still life paintings produced by French and Spanish artists of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
